Cespira™ is the fuel system specialist behind HPDI™ technology for heavy-duty engines. OUR STORY

How
we started

Cespira™ HPDI™ heritage spans more than 20 years, with roots in the University of British Columbia. Engineers set out to make heavy-duty transport cleaner with renewable fuels while retaining the diesel cycle and its operational attributes. That purpose still drives us today.

To make renewable fuels work where performance, efficiency and reliability cannot be compromised, making HPDI adoption practical across markets — advancing decarbonization at scale.

Biography

Carlos González is President and CEO of Cespira™, leading the company’s growth and global adoption of HPDI™ technology.  He brings 25+ years of executive experience across P&L leadership, business development, global key accounts, operations, and supply chain. Before Cespira, he spent 12 years at ZF Group, most recently as VP and Global Key Account Executive for a major global truck OEM. 

His career also spans WABCO, General Dynamics ELS, Continental, Siemens VDO, and Lear Corporation. Carlos holds an MBA from Duke University, executive education from INSEAD, IESE Business School, and IESE’s Programa de Alta Dirección de Empresas (PADE).

Biography

As CTO at Cespira™, Scott leads the development of HPDI™ technology. With 25+ years in advanced fuel-system development and commercialization, Scott started at Westport, working across demanding commercial-vehicle applications.

Scott’s career includes 13 years in the former Cummins Westport joint venture, where he was responsible for application engineering, product planning and management.  Other roles include global engineering, purchasing, supplier quality, and heavy-duty business leadership. With deep expertise in OEM integration and industrialization, Scott believes that “leadership means making the right engineering choices before the market fully converges,” a philosophy that continues to guide the evolution of HPDI technology.

Biography

Christian Fife is CFO at Cespira™, leading financial strategy, governance and performance as the company scales the global adoption of HPDI™ technology. He brings a unique international perspective, having lived in 11 countries and speaking seven languages.
His extensive experience includes GE, Wabtec and WABCO (ZF Commercial Vehicle Systems), with CFO and senior leadership roles across commercial vehicles, industrial technology, treasury, capital markets, investor relations, audit and business transformation.

Christian combines financial discipline with strategic business perspective, shaped across US-listed and private equity environments, bringing expertise in M&A, value creation, performance improvement, and navigating complexity across global markets.
